  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to capital improvements; appropriating money 
  1.3             for ice centers; authorizing state bonds. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [MIGHTY DUCKS ICE CENTER GRANTS.] 
  1.6      $5,000,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund to 
  1.7   the state amateur sports commission for grants of up to $250,000 
  1.8   each to construct new ice arenas and renovate existing ice 
  1.9   arenas throughout the state according to criteria in Minnesota 
  1.10  Statutes, section 240A.09. 
  1.11     Sec. 2.  [BOND SALE.] 
  1.12     To provide the money appropriated in this act from the 
  1.13  state bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of finance, on 
  1.14  request of the governor, shall sell and issue bonds of the state 
  1.15  in an amount up to $5,000,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and 
  1.16  with the effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 
  1.17  16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota Constitution, article 
  1.18  XI, sections 4 to 7. 
  1.19     Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.20     This act is effective the day following final enactment.
