  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to transportation; apportioning five percent 
  1.3             of the highway user tax distribution fund; amending 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 161.081, subdivision 
  1.5             1. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 161.081, 
  1.8   subdivision 1, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subdivision 1.  [DISTRIBUTION OF FIVE PERCENT.] Pursuant to 
  1.10  article 14, section 5, of the constitution, five percent of the 
  1.11  net highway user tax distribution fund is set aside, and 
  1.12  apportioned as follows: 
  1.13     (1) 28 percent to the trunk highway fund; 
  1.14     (2) 64 percent to a separate account in the county 
  1.15  state-aid highway fund to be known as the county turnback 
  1.16  account, which account in the state treasury is hereby created; 
  1.17     (3) 8 percent to a separate account in the municipal 
  1.18  state-aid street fund to be known as the municipal turnback 
  1.19  account, which account in the state treasury is hereby created.  
  1.20  No change in this apportionment shall be made before 2001.
