  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the Western Lake Superior sanitary 
  1.3             district and the Moose Lake-Windemere sanitary sewer 
  1.4             district; modifying board members' compensation; 
  1.5             amending Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 458D.03, 
  1.6             subdivision 9; Laws 1974, chapter 400, section 4, 
  1.7             subdivision 9, as amended. 
  1.8   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.9      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 458D.03, 
  1.10  subdivision 9, is amended to read: 
  1.11     Subd. 9.  [BOARD MEMBERS' COMPENSATION.] Each board member 
  1.12  shall be paid a per diem compensation of $35 $50 for meetings 
  1.13  and for such other services as are specifically authorized by 
  1.14  the board, and shall be reimbursed for all reasonable expenses 
  1.15  incurred in the performance of the member's duties as determined 
  1.16  by the board. 
  1.17     Sec. 2.  Laws 1974, chapter 400, section 4, subdivision 9, 
  1.18  as amended by Laws 1980, chapter 507, section 7, is amended to 
  1.19  read: 
  1.20     Subd. 9.  [BOARD MEMBERS' COMPENSATION.] Each board member, 
  1.21  except the chairman, shall be paid a per diem compensation 
  1.22  of $35 $50 for meetings, not to exceed $1,000 in any one year.  
  1.23  The chairman shall be paid a per diem compensation of $45 $50 
  1.24  for meetings, not to exceed $1,500 in any one year.  In 
  1.25  addition, the chairman and other board members shall be 
  1.26  compensated at the rate of $35 $50 per day for other services as 
  2.1   are specifically authorized by the board, without regard to the 
  2.2   above annual limitations.  All members of the board shall be 
  2.3   reimbursed for all reasonable expenses incurred in the 
  2.4   performance of their duties as determined by the board.
