  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state lands; providing for the 
  1.3             reconveyance of land to Cook county free of a 
  1.4             reversionary clause. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [RECONVEYANCE OF LAND; COOK COUNTY.] 
  1.7      (a) If the land described in paragraph (d) reverts to the 
  1.8   state under the terms of the quit claim deed filed for record 
  1.9   January 18, 1966, or if Cook county otherwise conveys the land 
  1.10  to the state, the commissioner of transportation, as successor 
  1.11  to the commissioner of aeronautics, shall reconvey the land back 
  1.12  to Cook county, free of any reversionary clause and according to 
  1.13  this section. 
  1.14     (b) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 92.45 and 
  1.15  94.09 to 94.16, the commissioner of transportation shall convey 
  1.16  to Cook county for no consideration the land bordering public 
  1.17  water that is described in paragraph (d). 
  1.18     (c) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the 
  1.19  attorney general and must convey the land free and clear of any 
  1.20  requirement to use the land for a particular purpose. 
  1.21     (d) The land to be conveyed is described as: 
  1.22     (1) all of Government Lots 1, 2, 10, 11, and 12 of Section 
  1.23  30, Township 62 North, Range 1 East of the Fourth Principal 
  1.24  Meridian, Cook county, Minnesota, according to plat of resurvey 
  1.25  accepted by the United States of America, Department of 
  2.1   Interior, Bureau of Land Management, on May 22, 1951, except the 
  2.2   land lying South and East of the following described line: 
  2.3      From the northwest corner of said Section 30, South 2 
  2.4   degrees 18 minutes East for a distance of 1758.9 feet to the 
  2.5   meander corner Sections 25 and 30 on the north shore of Devils 
  2.6   Track Lake; thence North 2 degrees 18 minutes West 26.4 feet to 
  2.7   a point on the section line; thence south 87 degrees 05 minutes 
  2.8   East for a distance of 646.8 feet; thence South 88.4 feet to a 
  2.9   point on the north shore of Devils Track Lake which is the point 
  2.10  of beginning of the line to be described herein; from said point 
  2.11  of beginning North for a distance of 88.4 feet; thence South 87 
  2.12  degrees 05 minutes East for a distance of 1442.8 feet; thence 
  2.13  South 100 feet; thence South 87 degrees 05 minutes East for a 
  2.14  distance of 947.1 feet to a point on the North-South quarter 
  2.15  line of said Section 30, said point being 124.1 feet South of 
  2.16  the center of Section 30, subject to reservation of the coal and 
  2.17  other minerals and conditions and limitations provided by the 
  2.18  Federal Act of December 22, 1928 (45 Stat., 1069); and 
  2.19     (2) that part of Government Lot 3, Section 30, Township 62 
  2.20  North, Range 1 East, Cook county, Minnesota, lying within the 
  2.21  following described lines: 
  2.22     Beginning at the northwest corner of Section 30, Township 
  2.23  62 North, Range 1 East, Cook county, thence South 02 degrees 00 
  2.24  minutes East for a distance of 1747 feet; thence South 87 
  2.25  degrees 05 minutes East for a distance of 2089.6 feet; thence 
  2.26  South for a distance of 100 feet; thence South 87 degrees 05 
  2.27  minutes East for a distance of 947.1 feet to a point on the 
  2.28  North-South quarter line of Section 30 which is the point of 
  2.29  beginning of the property to be described herein; from said 
  2.30  point of beginning thence South 87 degrees 05 minutes East for a 
  2.31  distance of 450 feet; thence North 01 degrees 38 minutes East 
  2.32  for a distance of 840 feet; thence North 87 degrees 05 minutes 
  2.33  West for a distance of 450 feet to a point on the North-South 
  2.34  quarter line of Section 30; thence South 01 degrees 38 minutes 
  2.35  West on said North-South quarter line for a distance of 840 feet 
  2.36  to the point of beginning.
