  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the legislative coordinating commission; 
  1.3             providing sign language interpreters for meetings with 
  1.4             legislators; amending Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 
  1.5             3.303, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 3.303, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 7.  [INTERPRETERS.] The commission shall provide 
  1.10  services needed to ensure that sign language interpreter 
  1.11  services are available when requested by a legislator for a 
  1.12  meeting within the state with one or more legislators. 
  1.13     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.14     This act is effective the day following final enactment.
