A bill for an act
relating to natural resources; transferring certain responsibilities to Board of
Water and Soil Resources from Pollution Control Agency and Department of
Natural Resources.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin (a) The following responsibilities are transferred to the Board of Water and Soil
Resources:

new text begin (1) responsibilities of the Pollution Control Agency for the preparation of TMDLs
under Minnesota Statutes, chapter 114D; and

new text begin (2) responsibilities of the Department of Natural Resources for water management
under Minnesota Statutes, chapters 103A to 103I, and related statutes.

new text begin (b) Minnesota Statutes, section 15.039, applies to the transfer of responsibilities
under paragraph (a).

new text begin By January 15, 2012, the revisor of statutes shall present a bill to the legislature to
make the appropriate statutory changes to reflect the transfer of duties under section 1.
