  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to capital investment; appropriating general 
  1.3             fund money for the Lewis and Clark rural water project 
  1.4             and canceling the 2000 appropriation from the bond 
  1.5             proceeds fund for the project. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [LEWIS AND CLARK RURAL WATER PROJECT.] 
  1.8      (a) The appropriation of $610,000 from the bond proceeds 
  1.9   fund to the commissioner of natural resources for a grant for 
  1.10  the Lewis and Clark rural water system in Laws 2000, chapter 
  1.11  492, article 1, section 7, subdivision 25, is canceled and the 
  1.12  bond sale authorization in Laws 2000, chapter 492, article 1, 
  1.13  section 26, subdivision 1, is reduced by $610,000. 
  1.14     (b) $180,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.15  commissioner of natural resources for a grant for the Lewis and 
  1.16  Clark joint powers board to acquire land for, and to predesign, 
  1.17  design, construct, furnish, and equip a rural water system to 
  1.18  serve southwestern Minnesota, and to pay additional project 
  1.19  development costs that are approved for federal cost-share 
  1.20  payment by the United States Bureau of Reclamation, and is 
  1.21  available until spent.  This appropriation is available when 
  1.22  matched by $8 of federal money and $1 of local money for each $1 
  1.23  of state money.
