  1.4             new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 259. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [259.12] [CORRECTIONAL INMATES; NAME CHANGES; 
  1.7   LIMITED.] 
  1.8      During each period of an inmate's confinement in a 
  1.9   correctional facility, as defined in section 241.021, 
  1.10  subdivision 1, clause (5), an inmate may request a name change 
  1.11  under section 259.10 only once.
