  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to crime prevention; appropriating money for 
  1.3             grants and training related to restorative justice 
  1.4             programs. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $....... is appropriated for the fiscal year ending June 
  1.8   30, 2000, and $....... is appropriated for the fiscal year 
  1.9   ending June 30, 2001, from the general fund to the commissioner 
  1.10  of corrections for grants related to restorative justice 
  1.11  programs as defined in Minnesota Statutes, section 611A.775.  
  1.12  The commissioner may make grants to fund new as well as existing 
  1.13  programs and shall hire a staff person to provide training and 
  1.14  technical assistance to volunteers who assist with the programs.
