relating to public safety; appropriating money for a crime victim support grant.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; CRIME VICTIM SUPPORT GRANT.

new text begin $125,000 in fiscal year 2008 and $125,000 in fiscal year 2009 are appropriated
from the general fund to the commissioner of public safety for a grant to a nonprofit
organization dedicated to providing immediate and long-term emotional support and
practical help for the families and friends of individuals who have died by homicide,
suicide, or accident. This appropriation is added to the department's base budget.
