  1.2             relating to education; authorizing a severance levy 
  1.3             for independent school district No. 2853, Lac qui 
  1.4             Parle Valley. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [SEVERANCE LEVY; LAC QUI PARLE VALLEY.] 
  1.7      Independent school district No. 2853, Lac qui Parle Valley, 
  1.8   may levy an amount up to $150,000 each year for a period of 15 
  1.9   years for severance and early retirement benefits for licensed 
  1.10  employees who retired as a result of the district's 
  1.11  consolidation that was effective July 1996. 
  1.12     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective for taxes 
  1.13  payable in 2002 and later years.
