A bill for an act
relating to crime prevention and public safety;
appropriating money for the public defender deficiency.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $7,681,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the
Board of Public Defense to fund the deficiency related to the
loss of public defender co-pay revenue. This appropriation is
in addition to any appropriation provided by Laws 2003, First
Special Session chapter 2, article 1, section 8, and is added to
the board's base level funding.
