  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; extending the grant for the 
  1.3             Southwest Star Concept School; amending Laws 1997, 
  1.4             First Special Session chapter 4, article 3, section 
  1.5             25, subdivision 6. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Laws 1997, First Special Session chapter 4, 
  1.8   article 3, section 25, subdivision 6, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 6.  [SOUTHWEST STAR CONCEPT SCHOOL.] For a grant to 
  1.10  independent school district No. 330, Heron Lake-Okabena, to 
  1.11  establish the Southwest Star Concept School: 
  1.12       $193,000     .....     1998
  1.13     This appropriation may be used for equipment, activities 
  1.14  beyond the classroom walls, professional planning assistance, 
  1.15  monitoring, evaluating, and reporting activities related to the 
  1.16  case study prepared in section 22. 
  1.17     This appropriation is available until June 30, 1999. 
  1.18     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.19     Section 1 is effective retroactive to July 1, 1997.
