  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; permitting independent school 
  1.3             district No. 284, Wayzata, school year to begin before 
  1.4             Labor Day. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [WAYZATA; SCHOOL YEAR.] 
  1.7      Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 126.12, 
  1.8   subdivision 1, independent school district No. 284, Wayzata, may 
  1.9   begin the 1997-1998 school year prior to Labor Day only by the 
  1.10  number of days necessary to accommodate the transition into the 
  1.11  new senior high school building. 
  1.12     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.13     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
