  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to motor fuels; requiring that diesel fuel 
  1.3             sold in the state contain a minimum of five percent 
  1.4             biodiesel fuel oil by weight; proposing coding for new 
  1.5             law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 239. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [239.77] [BIODIESEL CONTENT MANDATE.] 
  1.8      Subdivision 1.  [BIODIESEL FUEL OIL DESCRIBED.] Biodiesel 
  1.9   fuel oil is a biodegradable, combustible liquid fuel derived 
  1.10  from vegetable oils or animal fats that is suitable for blending 
  1.11  with diesel fuel oil for use in internal combustion diesel 
  1.12  engines. 
  1.13     Subd. 2.  [CONTENT REQUIREMENTS.] (a) From January 1, 2002, 
  1.14  through December 31, 2002, all diesel fuel oil sold or offered 
  1.15  for sale in Minnesota must contain at least 2.0 percent 
  1.16  biodiesel fuel oil by weight. 
  1.17     (b) On and after January 1, 2003, all diesel fuel oil sold 
  1.18  or offered for sale in Minnesota must contain at least 5.0 
  1.19  percent biodiesel fuel oil by weight.
