  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state lands; authorizing private sale of 
  1.3             certain tax-forfeited land that borders public water 
  1.4             in St. Louis county. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [PRIVATE SALE OF TAX-FORFEITED LAND BORDERING 
  1.7   PUBLIC WATER; ST. LOUIS COUNTY.] 
  1.8      (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 92.45 and 
  1.9   282.018, subdivision 1, and the public sale provisions of 
  1.10  Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282, St. Louis county may sell by 
  1.11  private sale the tax-forfeited land bordering public water that 
  1.12  is described in paragraph (c), under the remaining provisions of 
  1.13  Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282. 
  1.14     (b) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the 
  1.15  attorney general for a consideration of taxes due on the 
  1.16  property and any penalties, interest, and costs. 
  1.17     (c) The land to be sold is located in St. Louis county and 
  1.18  is described as:  Lots 54 and 55, Lake Nichols, town of 
  1.19  Northland (parcel code 490-0020-00560). 
  1.20     (d) The county has determined that the county's land 
  1.21  management interests would best be served if the lands were 
  1.22  returned to private ownership.
