  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             proposing an amendment to the Minnesota Constitution, 
  1.3             article XIII, by adding a section; affirming that 
  1.4             hunting and fishing and the taking of game and fish 
  1.5             are a valued part of our heritage. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT PROPOSED.] 
  1.8      An amendment to the Minnesota Constitution, article XIII, 
  1.9   by adding a section, is proposed to the people.  If the 
  1.10  amendment is adopted, the section will read as follows: 
  1.11     Sec. 12.  Hunting and fishing and the taking of game and 
  1.12  fish are a valued part of our heritage that shall be forever 
  1.13  preserved for the people and shall be managed by law and 
  1.14  regulation for the public good. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [SUBMISSION TO VOTERS.] 
  1.16     The proposed amendment must be submitted to the people at 
  1.17  the 1998 general election.  The question submitted shall be: 
  1.18     "Shall the Minnesota Constitution be amended to affirm that 
  1.19  hunting and fishing and the taking of game and fish are a valued 
  1.20  part of our heritage that shall be forever preserved for the 
  1.21  people and shall be managed by law and regulation for the public 
  1.22  good? 
  1.23                                     Yes .......
  1.24                                     No ........"
