relating to health; appropriating money for public health infrastructure projects
and activities.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; TRIBAL PUBLIC HEALTH GRANTS.

new text begin $500,000 in fiscal year 2022 and $500,000 in fiscal year 2023 are appropriated from the
general fund to the commissioner of health for Tribal public health grants under Minnesota
Statutes, section 145A.14, for public health infrastructure projects as defined by the Tribal
government.

Sec. 2. new text begin APPROPRIATION; PUBLIC HEALTH INFRASTRUCTURE.

new text begin $6,000,000 in fiscal year 2022 and $6,000,000 in fiscal year 2023 are appropriated from
the general fund to the commissioner of health for distribution as public health infrastructure
funds to community health boards and Tribal governments to support their ability to meet
national public health standards.

Sec. 3. new text begin APPROPRIATION; PUBLIC HEALTH SYSTEM ASSESSMENT AND
OVERSIGHT.

new text begin $1,500,000 in fiscal year 2022 and $1,500,000 in fiscal year 2023 are appropriated from
the general fund to the commissioner of health for the commissioner to assess the capacity
of the public health system to meet national public health standards and oversee public
health system improvement efforts.
