A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for a new Washburn Center
for Children facility in the east metropolitan area.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin WASHBURN CENTER FOR CHILDREN.

new text begin $950,000 in fiscal year 2019 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of health for a grant to the Washburn Center for Children for a new facility in the east
metropolitan area to provide mental health services for children and families. The project
includes predesign, design, acquisition of a leasehold interest in real property, demolition
of portions of the existing building, renovation of areas of the existing building, construction
of new space, and furnishing and equipping the center. This appropriation is not available
until the commissioner of management and budget determines that at least $100,000 has
been committed to complete the project from nonstate sources. This appropriation is available
until completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
