  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to health; appropriating money to address 
  1.3             certain health disparities across populations. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      $2,000,000 is appropriated for the 2002-2003 biennium from 
  1.7   the general fund to the commissioner of health to be spent in 
  1.8   accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 144.065, to 
  1.9   implement the statewide prevention plan by engaging 
  1.10  community-based organizations to address health disparities 
  1.11  across populations based upon race, ethnicity, or geographic 
  1.12  area.  This appropriation shall become part of the base level 
  1.13  funding for this activity for the 2004-2005 biennium.
