  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to appropriations; appropriating money to the 
  1.3             city of St. Paul to be used to purchase communications 
  1.4             and surveillance equipment for the St. Paul police 
  1.5             department's special investigations unit. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; ST. PAUL POLICE DEPARTMENT; 
  1.8   SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS UNIT.] 
  1.9      $200,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the city 
  1.10  of St. Paul for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1998, to be used 
  1.11  to purchase communications and surveillance equipment for use by 
  1.12  the special investigations unit of the St. Paul police 
  1.13  department.  This sum is available until expended.
