A bill for an act
relating to jobs and training; appropriating money for a grant to administer a
statewide program for job skills development in Conservation Corps Minnesota.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $500,000 in fiscal year 2012 and $500,000 in fiscal year 2013 are appropriated from
the workforce development fund to the commissioner of employment and economic
development for a grant to Conservation Corps Minnesota to administer a statewide project
of youth job skills development and training to assist with restoration, maintenance, and
other activities related to natural resources management. This project, which may have
career guidance components including health and life skills, is to encourage, train, and
assist youth in job-seeking skills, workplace orientation, and job site knowledge through
coaching. This appropriation is available in either year of the biennium and is added to the
agency's permanent budget base.
