A bill for an act
relating to state government; prohibiting former legislators and certain legislative
employees from lobbying the legislature for one year after leaving legislative office
or separation from employment; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota
Statutes, chapter 10A.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

[10A.035] LOBBYING ACTIVITIES PROHIBITED.

An individual may not attempt to influence legislative action as a lobbyist for one year
after:

(1) leaving office as a member of the legislature;

(2) separation from employment as an employee of a legislative caucus at a director-level
position; or

(3) separation from employment as a committee administrator for a legislative caucus.
