  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to government operations; transferring 
  1.3             authority over certain Indian scholarship programs 
  1.4             from the commissioner of children, families, and 
  1.5             learning to the higher education services office. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [TRANSFER OF POWERS.] 
  1.8      All powers, duties, and obligations of the commissioner of 
  1.9   children, families, and learning with respect to the Indian 
  1.10  scholarship program under Minnesota Statutes, section 124D.84, 
  1.11  is transferred to the higher education services offices under 
  1.12  Minnesota Statutes, section 15.039.  The office for 
  1.13  administering the program shall be located in the city of 
  1.14  Bemidji. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [REVISOR'S INSTRUCTION.] 
  1.16     The revisor shall renumber Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.17  124D.84, as Minnesota Statutes, section 136A.147, and correct 
  1.18  references to this section in Minnesota Statutes and Minnesota 
  1.19  Rules.  The revisor shall delete "commissioner" and 
  1.20  "commissioner of children, families, and learning" and 
  1.21  substitute "higher education services office" in Minnesota 
  1.22  Statutes, section 124D.84. 
  1.23     Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.24     This act is effective the day following final enactment.
