A bill for an act
relating to economic development; appropriating money for a grant for the Lake
Street Corridor.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $500,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to the Lake Street Council to predesign
and design a multipurpose community facility for workforce training, employment
opportunities, and other support services along the Lake Street Corridor. The Lake Street
Council may assign its interest under the grant agreement for this appropriation, upon a
determination by the council and the commissioner of employment and economic
development that the new entity has the ability and a plan to fulfill predesign and design
responsibilities, to own and construct the project, and to fund and operate the program
intended for the facility. Any such assignment shall not be deemed a sale for purposes of
the grant agreement.
