A bill for an act
relating to human services; appropriating money for live well at home grants.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; LIVE WELL AT HOME GRANTS.

new text begin (a) $3,000,000 in fiscal year 2020 is appropriated from the general fund to the
commissioner of human services for the purposes of live well at home grants under Minnesota
Statutes, section 256B.0917, to be used to continue services during the COVID-19 outbreak.

new text begin (b) The commissioner shall:
new text end

new text begin (1) distribute these funds, up to a maximum amount of $50,000 per grantee, to current
live well at home grantees as of March 13, 2020, including providers of core home and
community-based services, that provide direct services to vulnerable populations; and

new text begin (2) amend contracts as necessary to reflect the additional funds distributed under this
section.

new text begin (c) Local match requirements are waived for funds distributed under this section.

new text begin (d) The commissioner may use up to three percent of this appropriation for administrative
expenses.

new text begin (e) This is a onetime appropriation and is available until June 30, 2021. A grantee must
return to the commissioner any amount of a grant distributed under this section that is
unexpended as of June 30, 2021. All unexpended funds returned to the commissioner must
be deposited in the general fund.
