A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for a food relief facility in the
city of Columbia Heights.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; SOUTHERN ANOKA COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE
FOOD RELIEF FACILITY.

new text begin $1,500,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to Southern Anoka Community
Assistance, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to predesign, design, construct, engineer,
furnish, and equip a facility in the city of Columbia Heights to provide food shelf services,
grocery delivery for seniors and people with disabilities, and basic needs support. This
appropriation is available until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota
Statutes, section 16A.642. This is a onetime appropriation.
