A bill for an act
relating to health; providing for making COVID-19 vaccines available to certain
education personnel.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin AVAILABILITY OF COVID-19 VACCINES TO TEACHERS, SCHOOL
ADMINISTRATORS, AND EDUCATION PARAPROFESSIONALS.

new text begin (a) The terms defined in this subdivision apply to this section.

new text begin (b) "COVID-19 vaccine" means a vaccine against severe acute respiratory syndrome
coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).

new text begin (c) "School administrator" means a school principal or other person having general
control and supervision of the school.

new text begin (d) "Teacher" means a classroom teacher or other school employee required to hold a
license from the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board.

new text begin Vaccine availability. new text end

new text begin If COVID-19 vaccines are made available in the state in
phases, the commissioner of health shall include teachers, school administrators, and
education paraprofessionals in the phases in which COVID-19 vaccines are made available
to the following populations, as identified by the commissioner:

new text begin (1) workers in essential and critical industries; and
new text end

new text begin (2) populations at high risk for severe COVID-19 illness.
