A bill for an act
relating to substance use disorder recovery; appropriating money for a grant to
Niyyah Recovery Initiative.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER RECOVERY
SUPPORT FOR EAST AFRICAN COMMUNITIES.

new text begin $....... in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of
human services for a grant to Niyyah Recovery Initiative, with Minnesota Recovery
Connection acting as fiscal agent, to provide culturally responsive peer recovery support
services, forensic peer recovery support services, family education, and training on naloxone
procedures. Grant funds may also be used to build organizational capacity and infrastructure,
conduct grant-writing workshops, and for administrative and compliance activities.
