A bill for an act
relating to game and fish; removing prohibition on guides for turkey hunting;
amending Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 97B.721; repealing Minnesota Statutes
2016, section 97B.725.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 97B.721, is amended to read:


97B.721 LICENSE REQUIRED TO TAKE TURKEY; TAGGING AND
REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS.

(a) Except as provided in paragraph (b) or section 97A.405, subdivision 2, a person may
not take a turkey without possessing a turkey license.

(b) An unlicensed adult age 18 or older may assist a licensed wild-turkey hunter. The
unlicensed adult may not shoot or possess a firearm or bow while assisting a hunter under
this paragraph deleted text beginand may not charge a fee for the assistancedeleted text end.

(c) The commissioner may by rule prescribe requirements for the tagging and registration
of turkeys.
