A bill for an act
 relating to health; appropriating money for public health response planning and
preparation for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; PUBLIC HEALTH RESPONSE.

new text begin $5,000,000 in fiscal year 2020 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of health for the public health response planning and preparation related to a potential
outbreak of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The
commissioner must transfer $5,000,000 from the general fund to the public health response
contingency account under Minnesota Statutes, section 144.4199. Any obligated and
unexpended amount from this appropriation on February 1, 2021, is canceled and must be
transferred to the general fund by February 15, 2021. This is a onetime appropriation.
