A bill for an act
relating to transit; suspending the Metropolitan Council's authority to take action
or spend money on proposed guideways.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin SUSPENSION OF GUIDEWAY ACTIVITIES.

new text begin The Metropolitan Council must not take any action or spend any money for study,
planning, preliminary engineering, final design, or construction for any proposed guideway.
This does not apply to a dedicated bus rapid transit line that will be in revenue operations
before January 1, 2026. This section expires on the day the Green Line Extension light rail
transit line, also known as the Southwest Light Rail project, begins revenue operations.
