A bill for an act
relating to health; requiring the commissioner to provide certain registry
and surveillance information to the public; proposing coding for new law in
Minnesota Statutes, chapter 144.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin [144.0507] REGISTRIES AND SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS.

new text begin The commissioner shall post on agency Web sites the number of individuals for
which the commissioner has data that has been collected for each of the following
registries and surveillance systems:

new text begin (1) birth defects registry;
new text end

new text begin (2) immunization registry;
new text end

new text begin (3) newborn screening database and registry;
new text end

new text begin (4) vital statistics;
new text end

new text begin (5) hospital discharges;
new text end

new text begin (6) asthma surveillance system; and
new text end

new text begin (7) diabetes surveillance system.

new text begin The commissioner shall provide on agency Web sites information that states for
which of these registries and surveillance systems individuals must provide data and for
which individuals may, but are not required to, provide data. Agency Web sites must also
include information on the annual cost of each of these registries and surveillance systems.
