A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for restoration of the
Almelund Creamery Company Building in Chisago County.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $....... in fiscal year 2017 is appropriated from the general fund to the Minnesota
Historical Society, or to the Minnesota Historical Society for a grant to another entity,
to plan and predesign the restoration of the former Almelund Creamery Company
Building, built in 1919, and located in Amador Township, Chisago County, at the corner
of marked Trunk Highway 95 and Chisago County State Aid Highway 12, also known
as Park Trail. The planning process shall provide opportunities for local community
participation, including exploration of historic designation, various ownership structures
for the property, including cooperative ownership, and restoration of functions related to
food processing and marketing, as well as other uses. This appropriation is available until
the project is completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
