  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to traffic regulations; requiring the 
  1.3             commissioner of transportation to allow the use of 
  1.4             freeway high-occupancy lanes by certain other vehicles.
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [HIGH-OCCUPANCY VEHICLE LANES; USE BY OTHER 
  1.7   VEHICLES.] 
  1.8      The commissioner of transportation shall by order authorize 
  1.9   vehicles that (1) have a registered gross weight of over 26,000 
  1.10  pounds, or (2) bear license plates issued under Minnesota 
  1.11  Statutes, section 168.012, to use freeway lanes on the trunk 
  1.12  highway system that are otherwise designated for high-occupancy 
  1.13  vehicles only.
