A bill for an act
relating to transportation; governing certain requirements on filing traffic citations;
amending Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 169.99, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 169.99, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

new text begin Unless the citation is revoked, a peace officer who issues a
traffic citation must file the citation with the district court within 30 days after the date the
officer issued the citation.

new text begin This section is effective the day following final enactment,
and applies to traffic citations issued on and after that date.
