A bill for an act
 relating to capital investment; appropriating money for capital improvements at
the Washington County Heritage Center.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; WASHINGTON COUNTY HERITAGE CENTER.

new text begin $600,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to the Washington County Historical
Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, for capital improvements at the Washington
County Heritage Center in the city of Stillwater to allow for proper storage of historical
artifacts. This appropriation includes money for facility remodeling, replacement of the
HVAC system, roof replacement, exterior facility improvements, and the purchase and
installation of appropriate storage containers for historical artifacts. This appropriation is
available until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section
16A.642. This is a onetime appropriation.
