A bill for an act
 relating to energy; prohibiting solar energy generating system site permits in
certain instances; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter
216E.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin No state or local site permit may be issued for a solar energy generating system that
would contribute to meeting the requirements of section 216B.1691, subdivision 2f, or
that is governed under section 216B.1641, if the site permit application proposes to cut
down more than 75 percent of the trees standing in an area exceeding three acres in order
to accommodate construction of the solar energy generating system on the site.
