  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to claims against the state; providing for 
  1.3             payment of various claims; appropriating money. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS.] 
  1.6      Subdivision 1.  [COMMUNITY SERVICE AND SENTENCING TO 
  1.7   SERVICE WORK.] The amounts in this subdivision are appropriated 
  1.8   from the general fund to the commissioner of corrections for 
  1.9   payment under Minnesota Statutes, section 3.739, to service 
  1.10  providers as indicated in full and final payment of claims 
  1.11  against the state for medical services provided to individuals 
  1.12  who were injured while performing community service or 
  1.13  sentencing to service work for correctional purposes.  These 
  1.14  appropriations are available until June 30, 2001. 
  1.15     (a) For claims under $500 each and other claims already 
  1.16  paid by the department, $5,172.16. 
  1.17     (b) For medical services provided to Joshua S. Anderberg, 
  1.18  who suffered injuries while performing community service work in 
  1.19  Ramsey county, $585.96. 
  1.20     (c) For medical services provided to Jon K. Atzen, who 
  1.21  suffered injuries while performing community service work in 
  1.22  Nobles county, $3,635.92. 
  1.23     (d) For medical services provided to Stephen Cisco, who 
  1.24  suffered injuries while performing sentencing to service work in 
  2.1   Isanti county, $2,823.32. 
  2.2      (e) For medical services provided to Nepumoseno P. Hidalgo, 
  2.3   who suffered injuries while performing community service work in 
  2.4   Pipestone county, $1,746.32. 
  2.5      (f) For medical services provided to Vernon Mizer, who 
  2.6   suffered injuries while performing sentencing to service work in 
  2.7   Goodhue county, $5,866.65. 
  2.8      Subd. 2.  [INMATE INJURY.] $7,500 is appropriated from the 
  2.9   general fund to the commissioner of corrections for payment 
  2.10  under Minnesota Statutes, section 3.738, to Wil I. Killian, who 
  2.11  suffered permanent back injuries while performing assigned 
  2.12  duties as an inmate at MCF - Oak Park Heights.  This 
  2.13  appropriation is available until June 30, 2001. 
  2.14     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.15     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
