A bill for an act
relating to education; requiring the commissioner to provide adult education
programming in conjunction with the Hmong American Mutual Assistance
Association and the Lao Assistance Center; appropriating money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin TARGETED ADULT BASIC EDUCATION (ABE) PROGRAMS;
APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $....... in fiscal year 2017 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of education to establish and operate adult basic education programs in consultation with
the Hmong American Mutual Assistance Association and the Lao Assistance Center.
Programs established under this section must include interpreters.
