A bill for an act
relating to state lands; requiring conveyance of or compensation for certain state
lands.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

COMPENSATION REQUIRED.

new text begin (a) The commissioner of natural resources shall return in fee the land described
in paragraph (b) to the grantor or the grantor's heirs or compensate the grantor or the
grantor's heirs by:

new text begin (1) paying the fair market value of the land described in paragraph (b); or
new text end

new text begin (2) conveying title in fee of state land having equal value and an equal amount of
shoreland footage as the land described in paragraph (b).

new text begin (b) The land to which this section applies is located in St. Louis County and is
described as: that part of Lot 5 beginning 1,563 ft N and 1,895 ft E of SW corner of
Section 24 running thence N 76.5 degrees W 410 ft to the edge of the county road
right-of-way; thence N 13 degrees E 364 ft to the shore of the lake; thence southeasterly
along lake shore 623 ft to the point of beginning, Section 24, Township 67, Range 17.
