A bill for an act
relating to veterans; authorizing the placement of a plaque in the Court of Honor
on the Capitol grounds honoring Minnesota's recipients of the Congressional
Medal of Honor.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin PLAQUE HONORING MINNESOTA'S CONGRESSIONAL MEDAL
OF HONOR RECIPIENTS.

new text begin A memorial plaque may be placed in the Court of Honor on the Capitol grounds to
recognize those Minnesotans that have received the Medal of Honor, the nation's highest
award for valor in action against an enemy force which can be bestowed upon an individual
serving in the United States armed forces. The plaque must be furnished by a person or
organization other than the Department of Veterans Affairs and must be approved by the
commissioner of veterans affairs and the Capitol Area Architectural and Planning Board.
