  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; increasing the 
  1.3             property-related per diem for a nursing facility; 
  1.4             amending Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 256B.434, by 
  1.5             adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 256B.434, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 4b.  [FACILITY RATE INCREASES BEGINNING JULY 1, 
  1.10  2000.] For the rate year beginning July 1, 2000, a nursing 
  1.11  facility in Hennepin county licensed for 192 beds shall have its 
  1.12  property-related per diem increased by $1.  This increase shall 
  1.13  be recognized in the facility's contract payment rate under this 
  1.14  section.  As a condition of receiving this increase, the 
  1.15  facility shall delicense 12 of its 192 beds in order to provide 
  1.16  a greater number of private rooms for residents.
