  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             proposing an amendment to the Minnesota Constitution, 
  1.3             article XIII, by adding a section; confirming that the 
  1.4             lawful taking of game and fish is a valued part of our 
  1.5             heritage and a privilege that must always be managed 
  1.6             by law and regulation for the common good. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT PROPOSED.] 
  1.9      An amendment to the Minnesota Constitution, article XIII, 
  1.10  is proposed to the people.  If the amendment is adopted, the 
  1.11  section will read as follows: 
  1.12     Sec. 12.  The lawful taking of game and fish is a valued 
  1.13  part of our heritage, which shall be forever preserved, and this 
  1.14  privilege shall be managed by law and regulation for the common 
  1.15  good. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [SUBMISSION TO VOTERS.] 
  1.17     The proposed amendment must be submitted to the people at 
  1.18  the 1998 general election.  The question submitted shall be: 
  1.19     "Shall the Minnesota Constitution be amended to declare 
  1.20  that the lawful taking of game and fish is a valued part of our 
  1.21  heritage, which shall be forever preserved, and that this 
  1.22  privilege shall be managed by law and regulation for the common 
  1.23  good? 
  1.24                                     Yes .......
  1.25                                     No ........"
