A bill for an act
relating to insurance; placing restrictions on self-insured small employers; proposing
coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 60A.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin A small employer under section 62L.02, subdivision 26, that provides small employer
plan coverage to eligible employees through a contract to provide stop-loss coverage and
not through a policy of accident and sickness is not eligible to enroll in another small
employer plan providing benefits through a policy of accident and sickness until 36 months
from the date coverage under the stop-loss plan was no longer in effect.
