A bill for an act
relating to economic development; appropriating money for the joint partnership
between the University of Minnesota and the Mayo Clinic for research in
biotechnology and medical genomics.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin (a) The following amounts are appropriated from the general fund to the
commissioner of employment and economic development for purposes of operating
expenses for the joint partnership between the University of Minnesota and the Mayo
Clinic for research in biotechnology and medical genomics: new text end

new text begin (1) $18,000,000 beginning with the fiscal year ending June 30, 2007;
new text end

new text begin (2) $13,000,000 beginning with the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008;
new text end

new text begin (3) $12,000,000 beginning with the fiscal year ending June 30, 2009; and
new text end

new text begin (4) $12,000,000 beginning with the fiscal year ending June 30, 2010.

new text begin (b) The appropriations in paragraph (a) are available until expended.
