  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to capital improvements; appropriating money 
  1.3             for the Duluth state office building; authorizing 
  1.4             state bonds. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $2,300,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund to 
  1.8   the commissioner of administration for health, safety, and 
  1.9   structural renovations to the state office building in Duluth, 
  1.10  also known as the government services building.  Of this amount, 
  1.11  $1,800,000 is for a new heating, ventilation, and air 
  1.12  conditioning system, $400,000 is for roof and structural 
  1.13  repairs, and $100,000 is for elevator code compliance.  The 
  1.14  commissioner of administration shall work in cooperation with 
  1.15  the major tenant of the facility to implement these improvements.
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [BOND SALE.] 
  1.17     To provide the money appropriated in this act from the bond 
  1.18  proceeds fund, the commissioner of finance, on the request of 
  1.19  the governor, shall sell and issue bonds of the state in an 
  1.20  amount up to $2,300,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with 
  1.21  the effect prescribed in Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 
  1.22  16A.675, and by the Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 
  1.23  4 to 7.  
  1.24     Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.25     This act is effective the day following final enactment.
