  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to claims against the state; providing for 
  1.3             payment of various claims; appropriating money. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS; COMMUNITY SERVICE 
  1.6   AND SENTENCING TO SERVICE WORK.] 
  1.7      The amounts in this section are appropriated from the 
  1.8   general fund to the commissioner of corrections for payment 
  1.9   under Minnesota Statutes, section 3.739, to service providers as 
  1.10  indicated in full and final payment of claims against the state 
  1.11  for medical services provided to individuals who were injured 
  1.12  while performing community service or sentencing to service work 
  1.13  for correctional purposes.  These appropriations are available 
  1.14  until June 30, 2003. 
  1.15     (a) For claims under $500 each and other claims already 
  1.16  paid by the department, $5,203.28. 
  1.17     (b) For medical services provided to Ella Davison, who was 
  1.18  injured while performing sentencing to service work in Ramsey 
  1.19  county, $704.21. 
  1.20     (c) For medical services provided to Paul Gellersen, who 
  1.21  was injured while performing sentencing to service work in 
  1.22  Dakota county, $1,221.50. 
  1.23     (d) For medical services provided to David Gibson, who was 
  1.24  injured while performing sentencing to service work in St. Louis 
  2.1   county, $1,665.11. 
  2.2      (e) For medical services provided to Russell Kuopus, who 
  2.3   was injured while performing sentencing to service work in St. 
  2.4   Louis county, $5,690.74. 
  2.5      (f) For medical services provided to Kimberly Johnson, who 
  2.6   was injured performing sentencing to service work in Pine 
  2.7   county, $918.64. 
  2.8      (g) For medical services provided to Richard Schneider, who 
  2.9   was injured performing sentencing to service work in Stearns 
  2.10  county, $1,716.82. 
  2.11     (h) For medical services provided to Christopher Welsch, 
  2.12  who was injured while performing sentencing to service work in 
  2.13  Stearns county, $552.94. 
  2.14     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.15     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
