A bill for an act
relating to agriculture; appropriating money for grants for meat and poultry
processor training.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin MEAT AND POULTRY PROCESSOR TRAINING GRANTS;
APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $100,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of agriculture for grants to meat and poultry processors for reimbursing the cost of attending
courses in fiscal year 2023 that support developing sanitation standard operating procedures,
hazard analysis and critical control points plans, or business plans. A meat processor with
50 full-time equivalent employees or less is eligible for grant money under this paragraph.
This is a onetime appropriation.
