A bill for an act
relating to local government; authorizing the city of Minneapolis to restrict the
duration of operation of mobile food units.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin MINNEAPOLIS; MOBILE FOOD UNITS.

new text begin Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the city of Minneapolis
may by ordinance restrict the operation of permitted mobile food units to a maximum
number of days at any one place. The ordinance must include any requirements or
limitations the city considers reasonably necessary to protect the health, safety, and
general welfare of the public.

new text begin This section is effective the day following final enactment
without local approval as provided by Minnesota Statutes, section 645.023, subdivision 1,
paragraph (a).
